Acupuncture for Fatigue, Burnout & Tiredness in Hobart
Support your energy, restore balance and feel like yourself again.

If you’ve been feeling constantly tired, mentally fogy or running on empty no matter show much you try to push through, you’re not alone. many of our patients come to South Hobart Acupuncture feeling exhausted in a way that sleep, coffee or willpower alone can’t fix.

Fatigue and burnout can come from many factors – busy work schedules, long-term stress, disrupted sleep, emotional load, or simply living life at a pace your body hasn’t had time to recover from. In Chinese medicine this deep tiredness isn’t seen as a personal flaw. It’s understood as a sign that your body’s energy systems need support, nourishment and recalibration.

At our clinic in South Hobart we offer gentle acupuncture to support your body through the symptoms of fatigue and burnout so you can regain clarity, resilience and strength.

Understanding Fatigue & Burnout through Chinese Medicine
In Chinese medicine fatigue is often linked to imbalances in the body’s energy systems, most commonly the Spleen, Kidneys and Liver. These systems are responsible for transforming food into usable energy, supporting stress resilience and maintaining healthy circulation throughout the body. When these systems become depleted or constrained due to chronic stress, overwork, emotional strain or disrupted routines, symptoms may emerge such as:

  • Persistent tiredness
  • Brain fog
  • Low motivation
  • Irritability or emotional flatness
  • Feeling wired but tired
  • Unrefreshed after sleep
  • Muscle heaviness or weakness
  • Digestive changes
  • Increased sensitivity to stress

From a Chinese medicine perspective, burnout and deep fatigue usually develop gradually. The common underlying patterns we see in clinic include:

  • Spleen Qi Deficiency – low daily energy with constant tiredness worse in the afternoon, brain fog, poor concentration and digestive symptoms like bloating or loose stools.
  • Kidney Deficiency – deep burnout and adrenal-style exhaustion. The Kidneys are associated with our long-term energy reserves. When these are drained over time you may feel flat or emotionally depleted, have poor stress resilience, low motivation and feel profoundly exhausted.
  • Liver Qi Stagnation – the Liver governs the smooth flow of Qi and blood through the body. When stress or emotional load builds up you may feel fatigue paired with tension, irritability or mood changes, headache or neck/shoulder tension or feeling tired but wired. This is common for people who push through stress.
  • Blood Deficiency – in Chinese medicine Blood nourishes both the body and the mind. When Blood is insufficient you may experience dizziness, poor concentration, anxiety and sleep disturbance.

How We Support Fatigue and Burnout at South Hobart Acupuncture
At South Hobart Acupuncture we know that no two people are the same. This is why our support for fatigue and burnout is individualised – no two people experience exhaustion in the same way. Rather than just treating fatigue as a single symptom, we identify the Chinese medicine pattern underlying your symptoms and tailor your treatment accordingly.

At South Hobart Acupuncture your treatment plan may include:
🌿 Acupuncture – to support energy production and circulation, regulate the nervous system, calm the stress response, improve sleep quality and gently rebuild your depleted system.

🌿 Herbal medicine – personalised herbal formulas to address the underlying pattern and support energy production from within.

🌿 Targeted pathology testing – to uncover adrenal, gut, hormonal or immune system contributions.

🌿Lifestyle & diet support – to support and encourage long-term healing. This might include sleep rhythms, nutrition and meal timing, stress load and recovery and gentle movement and rest. These recommendations are realistic and designed to fit into real life – not another thing to add to your to-do list.
